Amir Sadollah (-310) vs. Peter Sobotta (+285)
Amir Sadollah (3-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) won season 7 of “The Ultimate Fighter”. He has a black belt in Sambo as well as a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Cameron Diffley.
At the TUF Finale he submitted CB Dollaway for his only professional win via sub, but on the reality show he submitted Dollaway, TKO’ed Gerald Harris and triangle choked Matt Brown. These bouts do not count on his record though. Sadollah also won via decision over Phil Baroni and Brad Blackburn. Most recently he was controlled for nearly the entire 15 minute fight by Dong Hyun Kim, and lost 30-27 on all judges cards.
Peter Sobotta (8-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC) is likely fighting for his UFC life. He trained Judo when he was younger, before being exposed to Tae kwon. He has won multiple German titles in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Before joining the UFC, Sobotta was able to finish all 8 of his opponents, 7 of them in the first round. In his fight against Paul Taylor he was badly outstruck but was able to get a couple takedowns. He had a competitive loss against James Wilks as well.
I like Sadollah in this one. His standup is quite a bit better than Sobotta’s, and he should be able to hold his own on the ground here. I’m not sure how Sobotta can win this fight besides landing a “lucky strike”. Amir Sadollah gets the clinch and lands a clean elbow, Sadollah via TKO round 3.
