** **

  • Carolina. Patrick Peterson-CB LSU. The consensus pick is Nick Fairley but with the amount of money that is invested in the first pick you need to get total value at that spot. Peterson would give them a lock down corner and make an impact in the return game. Peterson gives the Panthers the best value at this pick.

  • Denver. DaQuan Bowers-DE Clemson. The word is the Broncos want to switch back to the 4-3 and Bowers would give them a stud DE to pair with Dumervil on the ends. Bowers has shot up draft boards but I just hope he isn’t this year’s version of a workout warrior.

  • **Buffalo. Nick Fairley-DT Auburn. If this scenario played out this way the Bills would already be at the podium handing Goodell their pick once Denver is done. Fairley would upgrade the defensive tackle spot in their 3-4 and allow them to move Kyle Williams to end. **

  • Cincinnati. Marcell Dareus-DT Alabama. Who really knows where the Bengals will go with this pick. I would assume defensive line to help improve a poor pass rush. The Bengals have a good group of young defensive ends but they need an upgrade at defensive tackle. Domato Peko is solid but isn’t the dominant player some think he is. They consistently get no pressure up the middle. Dareus would help rectify that situation.

  • Arizona. Blaine Gabbart-QB Missouri. Gabbart is my pick for most over hyped player of the year. He is coming out of a system that doesn’t translate to the NFL but somebody will be talked into drafting him by Mel Kiper and Todd McShay. It’s no secret that Kurt Warner retiring hurt the Cardinals’ chances at being competitive this year. They went through three different quarterbacks this year. Some new blood is needed.

  • Cleveland. A.J Green-WR Georgia. The one thing the Browns offense lacks is a true number one wide receiver. They have some good young wide receivers but Green would give them an explosive target for the young Colt McCoy. Was there ever a better name for a Texas quarterback?

  • San Francisco. Robert Quinn-DE UNC. With no quarterback worth taking here the Niners will grab another pass rusher. Quinn looks like your prototypical 3-4 edge rusher and should be a force at the next level. If this was Facebook, Patrick Willis would like this.

  • Tennessee. Prince Amukamara-CB Nebraska. The Titans need another corner to pair with Cortland Finnegan. He will help shore a pass defense and give some energy to an aging secondary. Hey you never know when Finnegan might get knocked out in a game as well. Man Andre Johnson can throw some punches.

  • Dallas. Von Miller-LB Texas A&M. It’s no secret the Cowboys’ defense got their AARP cards in the mail this year so some young blood is needed. Von will add some energy and excitement to the Cowboys’ aging linebacker corps.

  • Washington. Corey Liuget-DT Illinois. I believe the Redskins will work out their differences with McNabb and go best player available. Corey will give them an option at defensive tackle in the 3-4 or give them a chance to send the troubled Albert Haynes worth out of town. He did just knock somebody out over road rage. Why somebody would start a fight with an unstable 6-6 350 pounder is beyond me.

  • Houston. Jimmy Smith-CB Colorado. The Texans are on the cusp of being a playoff team but they need some help in the secondary. The Texans have holes to fill but Smith will give them a shot at stopping Peyton Manning every year. If the Texans can find some wide receivers that can hold on to the ball outside of Johnson they should be serious contenders.

  • Minnesota. Nate Solder-OT Colorado. If Brett Favre can’t keep playing after getting beat down every week then you know you need offensive line help. Solder could slide in at right tackle and give the Vikings the chance to move the massive Phil Loadholt to the inside.

  • **Detroit. Tyron Smith-OT USC. The Lions have had great drafts the last two years but the one position they haven’t filled is the most important. The key to the Lions’ success is keeping Matt Stafford clean in the pocket and healthy. Tyron will slide in at left tackle and give them somebody to keep Stafford upright and off his already damaged shoulder. **

  • St. Louis. Julio Jones-WR Alabama. The Rams would love for Jones to be here at this pick. Sam Bradford was throwing to no name wide receivers this year and new offensive coordinator Josh McDaniel’s would love to get some more weapons. Jones will give Bradford a big down-field threat.

  • Miami. Mark Ingram-RB Alabama. The Dolphins would love to go best player available but when both your top running backs are headed to free agency you have to get a replacement. They could re-sign Ronnie Brown but he has proven he can’t stay healthy all year. Ingram would give them a solid number one running back and if they re-sign Brown then the wildcat will be back in full effect.

  • **Jacksonville. Adrian Clayborn-DE Iowa. The Jaguars have tried and failed over the years to get a pass rusher at defensive end. Clayborn will make Jaguar nation forget all about the wasted picks in the past. Clayborn is a stud that loves the game and will only get better. **

  • **New England. Mike Pouncey-OG Florida. The Patroits could go many ways here but with Logan Mankins looking like he won’t be back they need an upgrade. Pouncey is a rock that will start from day one and open holes for Green-Ellis. **

  • San Diego. Cameron Jordan-DE California. The Chargers need an end to pair with Luis Castillo and Jordan could slide inside at nose as well. Jordan will be a force in the 3-4 and has all the intangibles as well.

  • Giants. Gabe Carimi-OT Wisconsin. It’s no secret the Giants want to run the ball to set up the pass. Carimi is a mauling run blocker that will add some life to an aging offensive line.

  • Tampa Bay. Ryan Kerrigan-DE Purdue. The Bucs’ patience will pay off and give them a stud defensive end to play on an already young defense. Kerrigan and McCoy should harass quarterbacks for years to come.

  • **Kansas City. Akeem Ayers-LB UCLA. Is there a younger team right now in the NFL? Ayers will slide in at either linebacker spot in the 3-4 and make a young defense even younger. **

  • Indianapolis. Anthony Costanzo-OT Boston College. The Colts had an unusual bad year this year and most of that was Peyton Manning got hit more than he likes to. Costanzo should slide in at either tackle spot and help get Peyton clean in the pocket. Peyton can’t do great commercials if he is injured or pick defenses apart. Keeping him upright is number one priority.

  • **Philadelphia. Justin Houston-OLB Georgia. The Eagles need depth at linebacker and that was evident when it seemed every linebacker went down with a concussion. They don’t ever want to see another scary situation like they had Stewart Bradley. Having some depth will help that. Houston should be a force at outside linebacker and help the Eagles get back to the every down blitzing that the Eagles love to do. **

  • New Orleans. Ryan Williams-RB Virginia Tech. The Saints really should just move Reggie Bush to wide receiver so he can maximize his skills. Drafting Williams will allow them to do just that. Williams will pair with Pierre Thomas and give Sean Payton another weapon.

  • Seattle. Cameron Newton-QB Auburn. I’m not as high on Newton as everybody else is. I think he is a great leader and has intangibles but he wasn’t an efficient passer and he will struggle at the next level. That being said the bad performance of Jake Locker at the Senior Bowl will propel Newton into the first round. Seattle can sit him behind Hasselback for a year or two and let him learn the system and work on his passing short-comings.

  • Baltimore. Cameron Heyward-DE OSU. Nobody drafts better than Ozzie Newsome and this pick will be no different. Heyward will replace the loss of Trevor Pryce and start from day one next to Ngata. Heyward is a beast with great lineage and helps open holes for Ray Lewis.

  • Atlanta. Muhammad Wilkerson-DE Temple. The Falcons need help on defense and keeping John Abraham healthy and fresh all year is a priority. Wilkerson will give the Falcons another pass rusher and help cut down on the reps for Abraham.

  • **New England. J.J Watt-DE/OLB Nebraska. Watt will help shore up the Patriots front seven and give them another pass rush option at outside linebacker. The Patriots should load up for another title run in this year’s draft and it’s no secret that Belichick was making moves to capitalize this year. They could trade down but I don’t see it happening this year. **

  • New York Jets. Rahim Moore-Safety UCLA. The Jets have a good secondary but when Tom Brady is in your division then you can use all the help you can get in the secondary. The loss of Jim Leonhard hurt the Jets in the playoffs and Moore should be an eventual replacement. Moore is an explosive safety that can play in the box and in deep coverage.

  • **Chicago. Phil Taylor-DT Baylor. Tommie Harris can’t be the explosive pass rusher he can be if he doesn’t have a nose tackle to take up space. Moving Harris to the off tackle and plugging Taylor at nose will make the Bears pass rush really scary. **

  • Green Bay. Allen Bailey-DE Miami. The Packers really don’t have many holes besides running back. I know they have Grant but when he went down the running game struggled. There is no running back here at this pick worth the value so Bailey will give that incredible defense another pass rusher. They will be able to pick up another running back later in the draft.

  • Pittsburgh. Drake Nevis-DT LSU. The Steelers don’t have many holes but the defense isn’t getting any younger. Nevis should be an eventual replacement at the nose tackle and help the Steelers get younger in the front seven. I know Steeler nation would love to have the Pouncey brothers but I don’t see Mike Pouncey lasting this long.
