Everybody I’m back with my daily dime and there are plenty of things to sound off on so here we go. What a weekend in sports, the dunk contest was awesome except for Serge Ibaka getting robbed with his free throw dunk. I mean come on he jumped farther than Jordan and Dr. J and he is 7 foot tall. That’s impressive. Blake Griffin is a monster but we already knew that but man Jevele McGee really impressed me. Too bad he plays in Washington and nobody really cares about the Wizards. McGee and John Wall should make a nice combo in the years to come. Justin Bieber for MVP, really come on. I will admit that little buddy got some skills but Pippen should have won. There were too many kids under the age of 13 voting this year. Oh well that’s what’s hot these days and I still can’t understand why. All you need is a nice beat and you basically could mumble on the track to sell records these days. Example: Soulija Boy. Awful. Back to the subject at hand though, looking forward to the All Star Game and hoping it doesn’t turn into the second dunk contest of the weekend. The best in game dunk still belongs to Tracy Mcgrady with the off the backboard to himself dunk. That was serious.
Is anybody else fed up with the daily soap opera Melo talk? He needs to pick a team because it’s starting to get ridiculous. The Nets made a strong offer over the weekend but once again he can’t make up his mind about the extension. I didn’t realize getting 65 million was a hard choice to make. I have faith that the mad Russian owner and jigga man will do what’s necessary to win. If he won’t sign the extension then quit leading them on. Carmelo you’re acting like a school girl that needs attention. Sign already or make up your mind where you want to go, we’re tired of hearing about you. This is worse than “the decision.” Spring training is here and everybody right now feels their team has a shot to win it all. Well everybody except the Indians, Royals, Nationals, Pirates, Mariners and almost every team except ten. Don’t you love baseball? Bud Selig says the MLB is getting more competitive day to day with every team while the Yankees use money as toilet paper. Wake up Selig, small market teams are getting killed. Baseball needs a salary cap, not tomorrow or the next day right now. Boston you’re in the same boat, you use real money when playing Monopoly.
While I’m writing this Rihanna sounds awful in the halftime show of the NBA All Star game. First Fergie now this, you really don’t listen to somebody live before you book them? Don’t get me wrong Rihanna is one beautiful young woman but come on. I grew up on Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey sounding as good live as they do on their albums. They just don’t make them like they used to. The NFL still hasn’t reached an agreement and I’m convinced there is a higher power controlling this. I mean really one billion will make that much of a difference? It’s funny that the owners are saying they’re losing money but won’t open the books to show they are. The meeting should go like this, Owners: Look were filthy rich and we want more because the tax payers won’t pay for anything anymore. Deal with it or we will have a lock out and still get paid even if there is no football. Players: Well then Satan I guess we have to give in. Goodell with a Stewie voice from Family Guy: Yes yes that’s it give in hahaha, I will rule the world one day. Thank god NFL owners don’t control gas prices because could you imagine paying 20 dollars a gallon.
I wish life was as simple as the life sports players live. Wake up every day and get paid to get out of bed, do the daily check of your bank account and realize you still have more money than you can spend and jump in your luxury car that doesn’t really do anything for you but make you feel cool. Could you imagine watching a commercial and seeing something and actually be able to go buy it if you want. I mean really most of these people have more cars than they can drive. If you have a car for every day of the week then you really need some better financial advice. The game is coming back on so I guess I will watch them play around till the last 5 minutes of the game. Shout out to my boy Matthew Powers, yea your White Sox look pretty good. Still hate Adam Dunn though, sorry. Be good everybody and to each other.
