Paul Chryst is close to accepting the vacant offensive coordinator position for the Texas Longhorns, sources close to the program say. Chryst and his Wisconsin offensive line coach, Bob Bostad, were both in Austin yesterday for interviews.
Texas has already filled the vacant receivers and defensive tackles positions, but now looks to find its coordinators for both offense and defense.
Chryst and the Wisconsin Badgers went 11-2 this season, with a Rose Bowl loss to TCU.
UPDATE 1/6/2010: With Pittsburgh targeting Chryst for their vacant head coaching position, sources close to the Texas program say that Mack Brown will not wait for Chryst to go through the interview process.
