Reports out of Austin have stated that longtime Texas offensive coordinator Greg Davis has officially tendered his resignation as offensive coordinator for the University of Texas, effective immediately.
Davis, who has been Mack Brown’s offensive coordinator since their time at North Carolina, is a former Broyles Award winner for top assistant football coach in 2005. Davis’ offenses were regularly in the top 10 in the country, and featured one Heisman winner, two Heisman runners-up, and two Davey O’Brien Award winners, given to the nation’s top quarterback.
Offensive line coach Mac McWhorter and defensive line coach Mike Tolleson are also leaving the program.
