AFC East
New York Jets – A-
We all heard Rex Ryan predict a Super Bowl title for the Jets and so far no one team has emerged as a clear cut favorite. LaDainian Tomlinson has shown he still has some game in him and the Jets defense is still one of the best in the NFL, but Mark Sanchez is still a question mark. Without more production from their Franchize, the Jets won’t be hoisting the Lombardi trophy come playoff time.
New England Patriots – C
I will admit, this is a harsh grade for the Patriots considering they’re 6-2 right now, but this team is not performing like a typical Bill Belichick run team. The Patriots are last in the NFL in third down defense and near the bottom in total defense. Tom Brady is putting up his typical numbers as usual and will need help if he’s to continue his legacy.
Miami Dolphins – C
The Dolphins, to this point, have been pretty average so I think it is fitting that we give them an average grade. They’ve lost to the teams that they were probably supposed to in the Jets, Patriots, Ravens and Steelers and beaten the teams they were supposed to beat. The Dolphins will get better, but not this year.
Buffalo Bills – F
I really, really wanted to give the Bills a grade better than F. I tried to find a logical reason to give them a D- or even a D after they lost three straight games by three points to teams that currently hold playoff spots. This team is just bad though and not even Canadians want to watch this slop.
