There’s a rumor the Minnesota Vikings are trying to work out a deal with the New England Patriots to have star wide receiver Randy Moss finish with the team he started with. The Vikings are desperate for offense, as the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears are 3-1 while Minnesota is 1-2. Brett Favre clearly misses Sidney Rice, so adding Randy Moss would help the Vikings offense a ton. It could make Minnesota a Super Bowl favorite and give Randy that elusive ring. It would allow Brett Favre to get another ring and finally retire.

Randy Moss hasn’t had a stellar season to this point, as he’s accumulated just 9 receptions, 139 yards, 3 touchdowns, and a couple of dropped touchdowns. These aren’t great numbers for a man in a contract year. Chew on these stats: Randy Moss ranks 4th on the team in receptions, 3rd in receiving yards, and tied for first in receiving touchdowns. Aaron Hernandez has twice the number of receptions. Wes Welker has almost triple. If the Patriots can get a 2nd- or 3rd-round pick for Moss, then they win the deal in my opinion. They already have Oakland’s first rounder for next season and could land a couple of studs in the draft. The only person who would be unhappy is Tom Brady, who is probably too used to his favorite targets leaving.
