It happens every Sunday, there are men wondering how they lost their children’s college fund to that sure bet they made earlier in the week.  It’s called the spread.  The spread is the most evil element in gambling ever created.  Evening out the playing field, allowing Vegas to make millions and making grown men cry.  But no worries, just read my uneducated, fair weather, completely biased picks to reassure yourself that your genius pick is nothing but a waste of money.  Trust me, I’ve lost money!

Indianapolis Colts v. Tennessee Titans (+3.5)

Each team comes into this game struggling; the Titans are on a 5 game losing streak and haven’t won a game since Randy Moss came over off waivers during their bye week.  Jeff Fischer told Vince Young to go on timeout and sent home after injuring his thumb and Chris Johnson can’t feed or pay his offensive line enough to block for him the last couple of weeks.  The Colts are already beat up and now Jerraud Powers, the corner with the coolest name in the league, is out after having surgery on his broken arm.  I just don’t see Peyton Manning letting the Colts lose 4 in a row.

Take the Colts -3.5

Oakland Raiders v. Jacksonville Jaguars (-5)

I feel like it’s about time for the Jaguars to let all 500 of their fans down.  They have been very up and down all year, but with the Colts struggling are currently first in the division.  Tom Cable has the Raiders at 6-6, but my feeling is he still needs to prove more to Al Davis before he hires Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg to run the team.

Raiders with the points

Cincinnati Bengals v. Pittsburgh Steelers (-10)

Lets be honest, the Bengals quit on Cincinnati a long time ago.  Carson Palmer checked out right when they signed Terrell Owens and realized the angel on his shoulder couldn’t outweigh Chad Ochocinco and Owens screaming at him over the other.  The Steelers defensive will be too much for the Bengals and Big Ben should be able to beat them with a bad foot, broken nose, and couple more bad decisions on the horizon.

I still would take the Steelers at -10

Cleveland Browns v. Buffalo Bills (-1)

I’m torn because Peyton Hillis is a beast and saving my fantasy football season, but Ryan Fitzpatrick has been just as clutch in my rotating quarterback position.  The Bills always seem to keep it close, but find a way to lose.  If I were the Browns I would just run behind Joe Thomas and keep the points coming Hillis!

Browns should be a solid choice here

New York Giants v. Minnesota Vikings (no spread yet)

If I were Brett Favre I would just watch tape from the Bears/Giants game and realize if I want to live to see my granddaughter grow up, the streak stops here.  Even though the Vikings have been playing better since they fired Brad Childress, the Giants are making their playoff push and won’t take the Vikings lightly.  R.I.P. Brett Favre and Childress’s mustache

Giants. the spread wont matter

Green Bay Packers v. Detroit Lions (+7)

TRAP GAME!!!  This is my ‘GO BEARS, PACKERS SUCK’ pick.  As a Bears fan, Ill be rooting for Drew Stanton to be doing ‘The Dougie’ all game.  But in all reality, I think the Packers will win.  Aaron Rodgers and his receivers are too good for the Lions secondary, BUT I think the Lions keep it close.  If Ndamukong Suh can get to Rodgers you never know what could happen.

Lions with the touchdown

Atlanta Falcons v. Carolina Panthers (+7.5)

I’m surprised the line for this game is only 7.5 because I can’t think of a reason to give the Panthers any chance of winning or even staying in this game.  The Panthers have absolutely nothing to play for and I’m sure they are just banking on the number 1 pick.  While the Falcons would love home field since Matty Ice has only lost one game at home since he was drafted.

Falcons outscore them by at least 20

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v. Washington Redskins (+3)

Now that the drama of the biggest baby in the league, Albert Hansworth, has been suspended for the rest of the season, will the Redskins start playing hard again?  We saw it happen in Dallas and Minnesota when Wade Phillips and Brad Childress were fired, but can one player be that be of a cancer to the team?  Maybe it’s the Randy Moss syndrome?

Gutsy pick, Redskins +3
