Before this season, I don’t think there was anyone who had any real hard feeling for Chris Bosh, except for the few die-hard Toronto Raptors fans that anticipated him leaving for warmer weather.  There was little information out there about Bosh being north of the boarder.  Most people based their opinion on the few games Bosh played against their favorite team and other credentials.  Now that he’s teamed up with LeBron James and Dwayne Wade in South Beach, people developed a true disliking for the 6 foot 11 inch “power” forward, including me.

The hatred for Bosh has grown throughout the season and there are only a select few left, including his mother and extended family or at least the ones he gives money to, that really like him. But why are people so down on him?  Here are the top reasons why we hate Chris Bosh.

1.  His Looks

Unfortunately, Chris Bosh was not blessed with beauty.  He has been compared to everything from the most famous drag queen of all time, RuPaul, to animals like the ostrich.  This is one of the reasons why you don’t see his face plastered on billboards and in commercials endorsing various products.  In fact, this is why many thought he wanted to get every penny he could in his new deal.  It didn’t help when he sported those hideous dreadlocks and that terrible enormous mouth guard.

2. His Play

The more the national audience gets to see Bosh and the Miami Heat play the more they see the shortcomings in his game.  He is no longer thought of as the six-time all star and third member of Miami’s big three, but rather a soft player who takes mid-range jump shots instead of playing with his back to the basket.  His defense and rebounding have been put into question as well and there has been an obvious lack of effort at times during the Heat’s recent losing streak.

3. His Attitude

Probably the most disturbing reason why there is a strong detest for Bosh, at least to me, is his attitude on and off the court.  If there is one thing Bosh has picked up from LeBron and Wade is there knack for complaining.  When he isn’t getting his way during the game, Bosh tends to turn to the officials whining usually looking for a call.  His protesting, like LeBron and Wade, prevent them from getting back on defense resulting in being out of position and giving up easy baskets time and time again.

On the other hand after Miami goes on a run or he makes a big basket, Bosh is screaming at the top of his lungs and/or pounding his chest.  It’s perfectly fine to show emotion in the game, but becomes counterproductive when you’re complaining and taking plays off when you don’t get your way.

Furthermore, Bosh has a problem keeping his mouth shut.  His Twitter account is full of disputed tweets that have been ridiculed across the Internet.  Earlier in the year he scoffed at Chicago Bulls backup center Omer Asik for playing too hard when he rolled up on Bosh’s ankle and recently said he wasn’t getting the ball enough for the Heat to be successful.

He has always “clarified” his true intentions after a stupid comment like people do when they put their foot in their mouth, but the damage is already done.  Bosh wasn’t a good fit in Miami in the first place and he is only adding to the dislike for the Heat and their quest for success.
