The Big 12 had a pretty interesting Week 10. The Texas Longhorns suffered their most humiliating defeat since the 65-13 smashing by Oklahoma in 2003. Baylor’s luck finally ran dry in Stillwater as they fell 28-55 at the hands of Oklahoma State. The Texas A&M Aggies got a rare win versus Bob Stoops and the Sooners. Oh, and the Missouri Wildcats’ season tanked in Lubbock against Tommy Tuberville and the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Jeesh, what a meltdown for the Big 12 this week.

#12 Colorado Buffaloes

The Buffs are 0-5 in conference play and set to leave the Big 12 in absolute disgrace. Unbelievably, Dan Hawkins still has a chance to remain head coach when the Buffs move to the Pac-12. I assume this is only due to Colorado being bankrupt and unable to buy out Hawkins.

#11 Kansas Jayhawks

The Jayhawks are 1-4 in conference play, yet that sole win is against the Colorado Buffaloes. The road for Kansas doesn’t get much easier, as they go on the road to Nebraska, then come back to Lawrence to face Oklahoma State and Missouri. Good luck, Kansas.

#10 Texas Longhorns

Nine consecutive 10+ win seasons (gone). Twelve consecutive 9+ win seasons (gone). Twelve consecutive seasons ranked in the Top 25 (gone). If Texas doesn’t play with even the slightest semblance of urgency, they could also miss a bowl game for the first time since 1997. Mack Brown has some difficult decisions coming up, the biggest being whether or not to bench Garrett Gilbert, who has completely tanked his career at the 40 acres.

#9 Texas Tech Red Raiders

Tuberville got a much-needed win this past Saturday against the Tigers. Unfortunately, TTU was trashed by Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, and even Iowa State.

#8 Iowa State Cyclones

The Cyclones lost a heartbreaker in OT to the Cornhuskers, but they should still be very proud of their season. Wins against Texas Tech and Texas are rare for Iowa State.

#7 Kansas State Wildcats

Bill Snyder did it once before, and it appears that he is rebuilding the once-proud Wildcat program again. A 39-14 stomping of the Longhorns might be just what the doctor ordered to put Kansas State back on the map.

#6 Oklahoma Sooners

The Sooners have been exposed for the frauds they are these past few weeks. That BCS #1 ranking a few weeks ago is already looking like ancient history to the Sooner-nation. A 33-19 humiliation at the hands of Texas A&M should not bode well for Sooner prospects moving forward.

#5 Texas A&M Aggies

Guess Mike Sherman has turned this program around, and he has done it while making some tough decisions that seem to be plaguing Mack Brown, namely benching your turnover-happy, no-clutch starting quarterback. What an impressive win for the Aggies against Oklahoma.

#4 Baylor Bears

Robert Griffin III can’t do it all by himself.

#3 Missouri Tigers

Missouri lost to the Red Raiders in Lubbock, but not very many teams walk out of Lubbock with wins. Gabbert and the Tigers will have to lick their wounds, because they will be facing Bill Snyder’s Wildcats this Saturday.

#2 Oklahoma State Cowboys

The Cowboys are 8-1, in 1st place in the Big 12 South, averaging 46.3 ppg. WOW! What a great year for the Cowboys. Too bad they had that one slip up earlier in the season at the hands of Nebraska.

#1 Nebraska Cornhuskers

Nebraska retains the top spot based on their head-to-head with 8-1 Oklahoma State, at least for one more week. Nebraska is very lucky to have walked away with a victory versus Iowa State. If Nebraska has any dreams of leaving the Big 12 as champions, they had better learn to play defense when they head to College Station, TX in a few weeks.
