Fresh off of a game six loss to the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA finals, nearly 11 months after leaving his hometown of Akron, Ohio and one of the NBA’s worst teams, the Cleveland Cavaliers, you would think Lebron James could admit one of his faults. He could possibly admit that publicly joining two other NBA stars to form ‘The Big Three’ was not a great idea, and also acknowledge his poor performance in the fourth quarter of the NBA Finals, gaining back the respect of a few fans. Instead, Lebron James made another poor comment about those people who take joy in hating him, saying,
All the people that were rooting on me to fail, at the end of the day, they have to wake up tomorrow and have the same life that they had before they woke up today. They have the same personal problems they had (yesterday). They (have) to get back to the real world at some point - LeBron James
Nope, he couldn’t come clean and admit anything, while in turn, insulted the ‘normal’ people on Earth. Those who don’t abandon their hometown and family to earn a ring, which by the way, you can purchase once you graduate from high school. Those who don’t make as much as Lebron, which in my guestimation is 96.3 percent of the Earth, can get lost like a child chasing a balloon. He should’ve just said, ‘Lebron James does not like poor people.’ Like many villains of our fiction and non-fiction worlds, Lebron is heading down a path that can only get worse, so it is my job to predict how the next three months will go for this backstabbing, non-admitting NBA character.
June 16: With his closest friends, Lebron James goes out for sushi at one of Miami’s hottest restaurants, Izkaya Japanese Restaurant. He forgets his wallet at home, then, unable to admit his blunder, claims the waiter took it. Walking out of the restaurant he yells, “I’m taking my hunger to Burger King”. The story makes front page news across the U.S.
June 24: Subway Restaurant franchise shows its first commercials for the “Hot Dallas Jalapeno and Turkey Cheddar Sandwich”, which features Jason Kidd and a tagline for Subway saying “a taste that delivers, unlike Lebron”. Lebron says he will sue the franchise, but when his court day arrives, Lebron James does not show up, much like the 4th quarter of the NBA Finals.
June 29: Announces his plan to join with AT&T and T-Mobile to become the “Big 3”. Upon hearing this, Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert buys massive amounts of stock in Sprint and Cricket Mobile, announcing his companies will reach 5G speeds faster than AT&T, T-Mobile, and Lebron.
July 14: After a three-day Lebron James basketball camp, 4th grader Aaron Salters asks Lebron if he wanted to come over to his house, claiming “he wanted someone to play hide-and-seek with ”.
July 30: Lebron goes on stage with comedian Katt Williams at a small club in Los Angeles. A heckler provokes James to rant onstage, “15 years ago you would’ve been worshiping my every move. You normal people with your normal jobs and personal problems, that’s all you is, normal”.
August 12: Taking advice from his agent about how to improve his image, Lebron creates a PSA for his non-profit foundation, Normal is Okay. It begins with Lebron James in a red, white, and blue cap, wearing jeans and a Lynyrd Skynyrd t-shirt. Video is shown behind him, featuring people riding tractors, selling vegetables along the highway, and taking orders at McDonalds. Lebron says, “Normal people work hard and always have since the beginning of time”. A farmer walks out and shakes Lebron’s hand, continuing, “Even though we’re all different, it’s important to know that there is nothing wrong with being normal”. As the camera pans out, construction workers, police officers, and other Village People join Lebron and the farmer, shaking hands and exchanging hugs. The screen begins to fade with the heading, Normal is OK, in a white bold font, and a website address promoting James’ foundation that helps educate others about being normal.
August 14: The NFL players and owners reach an agreement and the NFL lockout is over. Lebron is out of the spotlight as media coverage strictly focuses on football, leaving The King to go back to his normal, off-season life.
