The New England Patriots continue to run up the scoreboard despite the lack of big playmakers aside from MVP candidate Tom Brady. The Atlanta Falcons continue their winning ways by defeating the lowly Panthers. The Steelers took care of business by capitalizing on mistakes by Carson Palmer. The Saints have won six in a row now after disposing of the Rams. The Eagles barely scraped by the Cowboys, and the Ravens needed overtime to defeat the Texans. The Giants didn’t receive much competition from the Favre-less Vikings. The Bears were smoked by New England on their own turf. The Jets lost in embarrassing fashion to the Miami Dolphins. The Packers found out how valuable Aaron Rodgers really is in their loss to the Lions.
1. New England Patriots (11-2): They keep winning after many thought their season was over when Moss was dealt to Minnesota. They’ll host the Packers this weekend.
2. Atlanta Falcons (11-2): The Falcons won their seventh in a row and won big despite Matt Ryan struggling. They have an easy road game in Seattle.
3. New Orleans Saints (10-3): They have won six in a row and keep putting pressure on the Falcons. They had no trouble against the Rams, but face a tougher test against the Ravens this weekend.
4. Pittsburgh Steelers (10-3): Their offense was brutal, but their defense came up big by forcing Carson Palmer into a pair of pick-6s. Big home game against the Jets this weekend.
5. Philadelphia Eagles (9-4): Won a close game in Dallas against a team that is looking better. They face a huge test on the road against the Giants now.
6. Baltimore Ravens (9-4): Ugly win last night against the Texans. The defense has to be concerned, and they’ll be tested again as Drew Brees comes into town.
7. New York Giants (9-4): Brandon Jacobs looks to be a force again, which is bad for opposing defenses. Huge game against the Eagles this weekend could determine the division winner.
8. Chicago Bears (9-4): They didn’t look prepared at all for the Patriots in the blowout loss. They’ll look to take their frustrations out on the Vikings on Monday night.
9. New York Jets (9-4): The Jets looked awful for the second straight week and really haven’t been impressive since Week 2. Their schedule doesn’t get much easier as they’re on the road to Pittsburgh.
10. Green Bay Packers (8-5): The offense looked horrible when Aaron Rodgers came out with a concussion. The lack of running game is hurting them. Their season could be over if they lose to New England on Sunday night.
On the bubble: Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers, Indianapolis Colts, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
