The Boston Celtics are again running short on players, just a week after finally looking to be fully healthy. The team has overcome many injuries all season, but now it looks like the team will have to move some pieces around just to put a rotation out on the floor for every game.

The latest injury came to Marquis Daniels who suffered a bruised spinal cord, and looks to be out at least a month. This does NOT help a team who already has Semih Erden, Shaq, Delonte West, and Jermaine O’Neal out with injury. With all the injuries the team has said that they will most likely have to move some players from beantown just to be able to get some healthy players.

The team called up rookie guard Avery Bradley from the Maine RedClaws to help aid the wing position for the bench with Daniels’ absence. The starters are intact for now, but the bench looks to suffer with only having availability to Nate Robinson, Von Wafer, Glen Davis, and rookies Luke Harangody and Avery Bradley. With barely enough players to hold a second unit, you can expect more minutes from the starters if the bench production continues to struggle as it has lately, averaging only 22 points the past few weeks.

With the schedule getting tough down the road, the Celtics may have to take some games off to stay healthy, as they did last year to make sure they’re ready for the post season. Doc Rivers prefers not to as he knows that home court is key in the playoffs. This team has played through injuries before, so we’ll have to wait and see how this period goes over for them. Ray Allen hopes it goes well, as he tore into the bench stating that they need to pick up their production. Hopefully they step up and help the team continue their winning ways.
