One night after “The First-Career Stolen Base Heard Round The World”, Atlanta answered with some magic of their own, converting a tide-turning 3-run 8th inning into an 11th-inning victory. Falling behind 4-0 after two innings, Tommy Hanson and the Braves looked like they were running a mundane postseason course, but after 14 scoreless innings, they finally converted a run on a Brian McCann RBI single in the 6th. Two innings later, in the 8th, another McCann single would fuel a rally that scored a run off of a Melky Cabrera dribbler down the line at third and two more off of an Alex Gonzalez double into left-center. The bullpen held strong, stretching the postseason scoreless streak to 8.2 IP, nearly a full complete game’s worth of dominance against the Giants.
